Will You Serve Yourself Or Serve Your Master

http;//www.DianeHochman.com

If you are building a home business or network opportunity you need to ask yourself some really serious questions about WHY you will not serve YOURSELF as much as you will serve your MASTER(boss)

Excuses are the cancer of any business.

Excuses are what keep you from what you want

Excuses will doom you to failure.

Edify To Build Your Business

Transcript

Hey gang! It's Diane Hochman, and we are going to do some basic training today. The topic today is edifying-edification! You have heard that. The topic of edifying your up line; edifying your down line.

What does that mean? Guys it is basically taking your new person...you see, new guy that is getting involved in the industry, his biggest issue is he needs to believe. He is looking for, write this down: reasons to believe it is possible that he could make it; reasons to believe that he could do this; is it fun? Is it simple? Could he figure it out?

Edification is the process of pointing towards the people that are ahead of you and showing them off. It is also then it's also process of pointing at the people that are below you and showing them off.

For example, I work with a gentleman named Joe Schroeder over at the Million Mine March. That is the primary thing that I do. I have lots of business interests, but that is my passion. That is my love. You can come hear me on Monday nights pour my gut out. I just love what we do there. I love what we teach people and who people become in that environment.

When people hear me...Wow! I just edified the program, didn't I? When people hear me talk about Joe Schroeder, I know the guy's history and I can talk about him and I can edify him.

For example, I might say, "Guys, you are coming here to learn from a man who has built multiple million dollar down lines. He has had a mail order business. He has been on the cover of five industry magazines. He has over 20 teaching CD's and five books. He is the most prolific writer in the industry and his copywriting skills are renowned and have been quoted by people all over the place including Mike Dillard, Mike Litman, and some of the most famous marketers out there-Dennis Karganella"

That is how I might tell his story or introduce him. I might just tell that or weave that in, because people are looking for "Well, I am here and this feels pretty good, but why should I listen to these people?"

I even edify myself. I tell my own story on every call. If you hang out on my calls I will say "Hey guys. My name is Diane Hochman. I am from Bristol, Connecticut. I got started in the industry in 1999 when I was $40, 000 in debt and over 270 pounds. I was looking for a way to lose some weight and ended up in this crazy world called network marketing. Since then I have taken off 120 pounds, paid off all that debt, and built a hugely successful business around my two little girls. I started when they were three and six. They are now 11 and 14 and it has been wonderful." I am edifying myself. I am telling my story. I am giving that guy a reason to believe.

Now what I might do, another edification might be for example, I might talk about somebody in my group or my team. So let's talk about, for example, the lovely Rebecca Johnson. A lot of you guys have seen here around the net, seen her on videos. We work very closely together. I might say "You know guys..."

And by the way, you can't be fake and cheesy. "He is the most incredible guy in the world! He has made a million zillion dollars and I worship him! He is God!" No!

So if I am talking about Rebecca, I will be like "Guys, I met Rebecca about nine months ago and I have never seen anybody that has been able to pick up as quickly as she has. The web 2.0, the marketing, the tools, the training; Rebecca is the fastest learner I have ever seen. If you are going to be working with Rebecca, let me tell you, you are working with one sharp cookie."

That is edification. That is how you talk about a person on your team. Maybe they just started a week ago and they haven't sold a darn thing. There is something good that you can say about them. The reason that you do is to help the new guy have a reason to believe.

Edification-play with it and try it. First, learn to edify yourself, then your up line, then your down line, then your side line, and your company. You will find it makes an amazing difference...
